The Illinois Jets put in a strong showing at the AAU Junior Olympic Regional held at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb recently.

Several will advance to the J.O. Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa. 

Jalen Anderson of Roscoe finished first in the 200-meter hurdles for 13-year-olds with a time of 30.08 seconds. He was also fourth in the long jump with a leap of 14-feet, 10 inches.

DuWayne Jones of Roscoe was second in the 800 for boys 15-16 in 2:08.27 and fifth in the 400 (52.14).

Patrice Jones was third in the long jump for girls 17-18 with a leap of 18-11. She was also fifth in the 200 dash in 25.86 and seventh in the 400 (59.78).

Phairra Jones of Roscoe was second in the long jump for girls 12 years old with a leap of 14-feet, 3/4 inches. She was sixth in the 200 in 29.03.

Breanna Pierson of South Beloit was fourth in the 400 hurdles for girls 17-18 in 1:10.86. 

Isabella Warneke of South Beloit was second in the 3000 for girls 15-16 in 11:36.95. She was also seventh in the 800 ( 2:42.88) and fourth in the 1500 (5:24.50).

Jayvious Johnson of Machesney Park was second in the 400 hurdles for boys 15-16 in 1:04.86.

Anthony Charleston of Rockford was fifth in the 200 for boys age 9 in 32.65.

Christopher Charleston of Rockford was fourth in the 200 for boys 12 in 28.77 and fifth in the 400 (1:06.09).

Mitchell Harper of South Beloit was fourth in the long jump for boys 14 in 17-04 3/4 and fifth in the 200 in 25.29.
